I am honored to announce my candidacy for Houston City Council District C. It is my belief that public service is a responsibility that we all share, and we should all be willing to contribute our time and best effort toward the well-being of the community in which we live, work and play.

My public service to our community began almost 15 years ago when I was elected to the Houston Independent School District (HISD) Board of Education. During my time as Board President, I led a community-wide initiative developing a strategic direction that began focusing on the core initiatives to transform the lives of students.  This initiative earned HISD the Broad Prize in 2013 as the top urban school district in the nation.

Since 2010, I began to devote my talents to nonprofit organizations providing transformative opportunities for economically challenged families and students. I was Director of Corporate Work Study at Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School and Executive Director for Citizen Schools. Currently, I serve as the Chief Financial Officer for Kickstart Kids as well as an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas.

My commitment is to serve the citizens of District C and the broader Houston community with a strong voice to aid in the growth and prosperity of our City. I want to bring my record of proven leadership, responsible government, and a true customer service mentality so future generations of our City benefit. I want to help focus on the priorities facing our City. I have the experience working with a diverse governing body as well as balancing a large budget while seeing positive outcomes. I can “hit the ground running” immediately and be your proactive voice based on my past leadership experience.

With your encouragement, financial and volunteer support, I am confident our campaign will be successful this November. None of our work can be done without your help.

Please email me at if you have questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for standing with me in this campaign!
